In photos: Hundreds queue in Blanchardstown for first Irish Popeyes restaurant opening
Hundreds of people queued overnight and from early morning to be the first in the door of Popeyes' first Irish restaurant.
The first three customers in line received an incredible prize - free chicken sandwiches from the location for life.
The winners were Ben Lawlor from Lucan, Karl Harmon from Ladyswell and Brian Kaiser from Blackrock who queued over 24 hours to win the prize.
Karl Harmon began queuing early on Friday morning ahead of the Saturday morning opening.
Second in line was Brian Kaiser, who is originally from the US, and grew up with the popular fast food chain. “I grew up with Popeyes,” he told The Irish Times. “This is my favourite fast food in the States.
I’ve been dying for it to come to Ireland for years."The New Orleans-born chicken brand is now open at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and queues have been hectic for the opening day.
