If you’re one of the tens of millions of Americans taking to the road this July 4 holiday weekend, you’ll likely have this nagging thought cross your mind at least once: how much will it cost me to fuel up the car?

The answer is, on average, $3.82 per gallon, https://gasprices.aaa.com/news/">according to the American Automobile Association (AAA) as of the time of this writing.

While that price per gallon is down from the https://newsroom.aaa.com/2026/07/ahead-of-july-4th-drivers-get-some-relief-at-the-pump/">$4.56 national average on May 21, it’s still well above the https://newsroom.aaa.com/2026/06/72-2-million-americans-expected-to-travel-over-july-4th-week/">$3.15 national average during last year’s July 4 holiday period.

The good news is that this weekend only, anyone who is an Amazon Prime member can save 50¢ per gallon on one fuel purchase, thus lightening the financial load just a little when celebrating America’s 250th.

Here’s how.

Amazon has https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/retail/amazon-gas-savings-prime">announced that anyone in the United States with a Prime membership can save 50 cents per gallon on one fill-up at more than 7,500 select gas stations this July 4 holiday weekend.

The 50¢-per-gallon savings promo runs from Thursday, July 2, until Sunday, July 5.

While the discount is only available for one fill-up, the 50¢-per-gallon discount means those with average gas tanks of 10 to 30 gallons can potentially save between $5 and $15 on a full fill-up.

To get gas savings, in addition to being an Amazon Prime US subscriber, you’ll also need a free BP https://www.bp.com/en_us/united-states/home/products-and-services/earnify.html">earnify account and to fill up at select stations across the country.

What stations can I fill up at?

Amazon says that drivers can take advantage of the limited-time savings at more than 7,500 gas stations across the country.

Those stations include:

  • BP

  • Amoco

  • participating ampm stations

  • participating Thorntons stations

How do I get the 50¢-per-gallon savings?

As long as you are a US Amazon Prime subscriber, you are eligible for the gasoline discount.

But to get the discount, you’ll also need to create a free BP earnify account and link your Amazon Prime membership to it.

You can create a free earnify account in the free earnify app, which you can download for https://apps.apple.com/us/app/earnify/id6502012127">iPhone and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bp.app.bpme.global.ros&pcampaignid=web_share">Android.
