White House updates vaccine panel rules to reflect Kennedy skepticism

Thursday's changes come after a legal defeat for Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who had ousted that panel's members and replaced them with his own picks.

The advisory panel is supposed to make science-based recommendations about how best to use the nation's vaccines.

Its charter is typically renewed every two years with little fanfare.

This time, it includes new wording to broaden the panel’s membership and to focus more on potential vaccine harms.
