An evacuation order has been issued for 70 Mile House, B.C., after two out-of-control wildfires near the town merged over the weekend.
But some residents are refusing to leave, saying they’re prepared to try to protect their homes.
“It's a safety issue.
So if you stay on your property, you have to stay on your property.
If you have an emergency situation or a health situation, the ambulance isn't going to be able to get to you because they can't come into an alert area or an order area, so it's it's definitely it's definitely a risk." one restaurant owner in the region said.
