Global oil prices jumped over 5% after Trump said the US seized an Iran-flagged ship, as Iran threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week.
Global oil rose 5.4% to $95.27 a barrel, while the US benchmark gained 5.9% to $88.79.
