Ghana and EU sign defence partnership to counter west Africa insecurity

Ghana and the European Union on March 25 signed their first formal defence partnership.

It has also signed a similar agreement with Iceland and Australia.

It comes as Ghana tries to prevent a spillover of increased attacks from groups backed by Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State in the region.
