The company is rolling out a new feature that will alert parents if their teen with a linked account suggests they are in distress in conversation with the company's Meta AI chatbot." width="620" />

Starting today, Canadian parents who have set up Instagram's supervision feature for their teen will be notified if their child shows signs that they're in crisis.

Kids, advocates and tech experts all say the feature is a step in the right direction, but that more work is needed to keep kids safe online.
