Colombia declared a national emergency on Monday after a 7.4-magnitude earthquake in the west of the country killed at least 111 people and injured 87 others as rescue teams searched for survivors trapped under debris.

The quake prompted evacuations in the capital, Bogota, and was felt across other parts of Latin America, including Ecuador and Panama.
