Albania’s coastal region of Narta is one of the most biodiverse and pristine areas in Europe.
It’s home to thousands of flamingos, who’ve lent their name to ongoing nationwide protests against a planned luxury development on a nature reserve by Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.
The plans have angered environmentalists and caused Albanians to question who decides the future of their country.

The developers say they're working towards creating a world-class destination, rooted in thoughtful design and environmental stewardship and its future would be determined by Albania and the Albanian people.
The Prime Minister Edi Rama told Channel 4 News that the concerns were overstated, and the development was in very early stages.
