US removes Syria's designation as State Sponsor of Terrorism

Aug 24 (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department on Monday removed Syria from its list of State Sponsors of Terrorism, according to a notification from the Treasury, in a move that was first announced earlier this year pending a review by Congress.
