'Brexit betrayal' or just closer ties to EU?

Opposition parties have accused the government of betraying Brexit with plans to seek closer alignment with the EU.

The Prime Minister's spokesperson has said EU laws will not apply to the UK and parliament will get a chance to vote on the plan.
