ECOWAS is sending a mediator to Mali to address a worsening security crisis, as Tuareg separatists seize northern towns and Al-Qaeda-linked fighters tighten pressure around Bamako.
Authorities have also launched an investigation into recent attacks, with several officers reportedly arrested.
