Alaska U.S. Senate candidate Mary Peltola (D) addressed supporters early Wednesday morning after advancing to the general election in the state's nonpartisan top-four primary.
Ms. Peltola, a former commercial fisher and state legislator, won the state's at-large U.S. House seat in a 2022 special election.
She won a full two-year term later that year before losing reelection to Nick Begich III in 2024.
The Alaska Native will take on Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK), along with two other candidates yet to be determined, in the November general election.
The Cook Political Report rates the race as a "toss up."
