Sir Keir Starmer’s reset speech marks a “big moment” for the Prime Minister’s future, a Cabinet minister has admitted.
When told that Labour MPs were considering ousting Sir Keir after his address at 10am, Peter Kyle, the Business Secretary, said: “Today is a big moment, I’m not saying it’s not...
We are convulsed as a party as to what just happened.”
Mr Kyle promised Sir Keir would focus on issues including Britain’s ties with EU, economic growth, and the opportunities on offer for young people.
He told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “If we can focus on those areas and we can show that we can meet the scale of those challenges, and that we are willing to strain at the bit and throw everything including the kitchen sink at those areas ... then I think we can start generating a bit of hope and optimism that we can get a grip on these things, deliver it in a way that people feel.”
