Moment Iran strikes Jordan military base, killing two US soldiers

The Telegraph The Telegraph — 49sec

Two US soldiers were killed on Friday by an Iranian missile and drone strike on a military base in Jordan.

The US Central Command (Centcom) announced on Saturday that one other service member was missing and several more were injured, after Iran launched its latest barrages across the Gulf in retaliation for consecutive nights of US attacks.

The US military did not identify the dead.

It said they were killed defending against the attack – the first American deaths because of direct Iranian fire since the opening days of the war.

The attack took place on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in eastern Jordan, a key military installation hosting US forces which has been targeted multiple times in recent days.
