Chuncheon, a scenic lakeside city located in northeastern Korea's Gangwon Province, about 75 kilometers northeast of Seoul, is preparing to host its inaugural Chuncheon Peace Walk on Sept. 17.

The event invites both local residents and international visitors to step out into autumn and stroll along a stunning lakeside route as part of celebrations for the 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, running from Sept. 16-20.

Co-organized by the nongovernmental organization GCS International alongside World Taekwondo, Chuncheon City, The Korea Times and the Chuncheon Leisure Taekwondo Organizing Committee, the walk offers a scenic breath of fresh air.

Participants will gather at 10 a.m. at the Songam Sports Town Inline Skating Arena before embarking on a flat, 4-kilometer round trip out to the Uiamho Skywalk — a glass observation platform suspended over the calm waters of Uiam Lake.
