Ottawa residents are getting their first look at the design plans for a massive new Riverside South recreation complex slated for Earl Armstrong Road.
CTV's Camille Wilson reports that Riverside South-Findlay Creek city councillor Steve Desroches says the facility is desperately needed to address a 1000-person waitlist for swimming lessons at the Minto Recreation Complex.
Local resident Rubiane Patenaude says she is thrilled about the indoor walking track, while Cathy Borjia is looking forward to escaping icy winter conditions.
The $175-million facility will take two years to design and another two years to construct, and will feature NHL-sized ice rinks, a swimming pool and multiple sports fields.
