Trump tightens grip on Republican Party after Thomas Massie primary defeat

US President Donald Trump tightened his grip on the Republican Party on Tuesday after Kentucky voters ousted Congressman Thomas Massie, one of the few conservatives willing to openly challenge him.

The defeat, projected by NBC and CNN, followed setbacks for other Republican dissenters, including Indiana lawmakers and Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy.
