U.S. and Saudi Arabia strike Iran-backed groups in Iraq, CENTCOM stops Iran's "surprise attack"

After days of relative calm, the Middle East saw renewed fighting overnight.

U.S. Central Command says it thwarted a "surprise attack" by Iran and joined Saudi Arabia in carrying out strikes on Iran-backed groups in Iraq.
