Trump administration faces legal scrutiny over Kennedy Center
A federal judge is questioning the decision to close Washington's Kennedy Center for renovations.
Judge Christopher Cooper asked during a hearing Tuesday why the center needs to close and whether the Trump administration has researched the impact.
The hearing involves a lawsuit filed by Rep. Joyce Beatty against Trump and others, challenging the two-year closure starting in July.
Cooper pressed attorneys on the lack of cost analysis and the renovation plans.
The judge took no action but another hearing is set for Wednesday.
Concerns include public access and potential effects on the center.
