The Commonwealth Games begin

Australia’s athletes have arrived at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, led by reigning Olympic and world champion pole vaulter Nina Kennedy as the country’s flagbearer.

Kennedy headed Australia’s team of 255 athletes with another reigning gold medallist, para swimmer Tim Hodge, who carried the King’s Baton at the ceremony inside Glasgow’s Hydro arena (ABC).
