The man accused of trying to kill OpenAI CEO Sam Altman by throwing a Molotov cocktail at his San Francisco home is set to make an initial court appearance Tuesday.
Authorities say Daniel Moreno-Gama targeted Altman and was motivated by his hatred of AI technology.
Officials say he set an exterior gate on fire at Altman's home and later threatened to burn down OpenAI’s headquarters.
No one was injured in the incidents on Friday.
Moreno-Gama, of Texas, faces charges of attempted murder and arson, with potential penalties ranging from 19 years to life in prison.
It wasn't immediately known if he has an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
