A tsunami warning and emergency protocols have been activated in both Mexico and Guatemala after a powerful, 7.3-magnitude earthquake shook the region Friday.
The tremor struck off the coast of southern Mexico, shaking buildings and prompting some residents to flee their homes.
Other than potential damage to a building in Tapachula and a collapsed wall at a bus station in Guatemala City, authorities have not reported any casualties or severe damage in the impacted regions.
