To promote their new movie, https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/news/tom-holland/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Tom Holland and co-star https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/news/jon-bernthal/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Jon Bernthal paid a visit to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mc9WVVAUQGE" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hot Ones, the interview series where celebrities answer questions while challenging themselves to eat the spiciest wings possible.
Unfortunately, it seems Tom might have pushed himself a little past his limits.
In a post-credits sequence, the https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/news/spider-man/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Spider-Man actor could be seen spluttering as he posted for a picture with Jon and host Sean Evans, before disappearing under the table to be sick.
“You can use that!” he enthused as he came back up for air, before bragging that he got “none of it on my clothes”.
“That might be the first on-set [vomit] ever,” Sean then pointed out, to which Tom insisted: “I love being the first!”
In Tom’s defence, he made it through the entire Hot Ones challenge, and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNKdo2uOAus" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">during a recent appearance on the podcast Dish, he claimed that the “horrendous” incident only came about because he’d been “nailing so much milk” to counteract the spice.
He recalled: “I did Hot Ones the other day.
It was horrendous.
And I think I might be the first person [to throw] up in the interview.
Because I’d been nailing so much milk.
“I just started laughing.
And it’s just like, I look like a baby.
You know when a baby just has like pure milk that comes out?
It was literally like that.
Horrendous.”
He continued: “I tell you what.
It’s way worse than you think.
I’ve done it twice now, and last time I did it, I was like, ‘I’m never doing that again’.
And then I did it again, and I’m never doing that again.”
Tom then shared: “My favourite part about this new experience is I did it with Jon Bernthal.
He’s a very good friend of mine.
Absolutely love him to bits.
“He is on Broadway right now doing his show.
So, he finished that and then went and did a full Broadway show for three hours.
It is a super, super demanding show.
And you know what happens when you eat spicy food?
“Imagine – standing on stage in front of thousands of people.
We were texting in his [interval], and he was feeling it.
The audience would have been like, ‘wow, this is so intense’.
Sweating like you can’t believe.
He’s really just trying to not shit himself.”
You can see both Tom and Jon in action in The Odyssey, in cinemas now.
