Playoff fever has taken over the capital as the Ottawa Senators face the Carolina Hurricanes in round one of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

CTV's Josh Marano reports on the 2-0 Game 1 loss, which featured an early fight between Brady Tkachuk and Jordan Staal and a called-back goal.

Mayor Mark Sutcliffe celebrated the CIBC Red Zone, while fans David Trakalo, Olga Weatherdon, and Don Silverthorn kept spirits high along Sens Mile and at the Circle Barrhaven Retirement Home.
