New obesity drug from Lilly delivers major weight loss

An investigational obesity drug from Eli Lilly cleared important endpoints in a late-stage trial, the company said Thursday, by helping patients lose up to 30 percent of their body weight.

Lilly said that a once-weekly injection of retatrutide met the primary endpoint in a phase 3 clinical trial, as well as key secondary endpoints for obesity, delivering clinically meaningful weight loss.
