Former Iraqi president applauds China's progress, says people everywhere seek stability

On June 11, the Forum on Global Human Rights Governance opened in Beijing, bringing together over 400 guests from more than 100 countries and international organizations.

Former Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid expressed his admiration for China and its development in an interview with CGTN Digital reporter Merna Al Nasser.

He also emphasized that education, healthcare and care for vulnerable groups are essential to protecting human rights.

He expressed hope that the world can stay away from wars, that all countries can pursue common development and that young people from China and Arab countries can work hand in hand to build a better future.
