Europe excludes US from plan to reopen Hormuz
European countries are drafting a post-Iran war plan for a broad coalition of countries, excluding the United States, to help free up shipping transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, officials told the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.
French President Emmanuel Macron said that the plan is for an international defensive mission which would exclude “belligerent” countries, including the US, Israel and Iran.
It would come into effect after the war is over and may include countries sending mine clearing and other military vessels to the region, according to reports in the WSJ.
