A Blue Origin rocket exploded into a massive fireball during an engine-firing test at its Cape Canaveral, Fla., launch pad Thursday night.
The New Glenn rocket was unmanned and exploded ahead of a satellite launch next week.
“All personnel are accounted for and safe.
It’s too early to know the root cause but we’re already working to find it.
Very rough day, but we’ll rebuild whatever needs rebuilding and get back to flying.
It’s worth it,” Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos wrote in a post on X.
This comes days after NASA awarded Blue Origin a contract worth hundreds of millions of dollars to launch a pair of moon buggies over the next few years as part of the Artemis program.
