Train collision near Indonesia's capital kills 3, injures 29

A train collision outside Indonesia's capital on Monday has killed at least three people.

The Jakarta police chief says 29 victims have been evacuated to nearby hospitals.

A long-distance train crashed into a commuter train at Bekasi Timur Station, causing severe damage to the rear car was designated for women only.

An investigation is underway.

The state-owned railway company has apologized.

Accidents are common on Indonesia’s aging railroad network.
