Venezuela quake death toll tops 5,000 as IMF releases recovery funds
More than 5,000 people were killed in the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela last month, officials said, adding that the country would tap $346 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for reconstruction.
The coastal state of La Guaira, located north of Caracas, was decimated in the quakes that struck within a minute of each other on June 24.
