Middle East live: Iran says Hormuz strait still closed despite transit corridor talks with Oman
Tehran warned on Wednesday that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed unless the United States ends the war, despite discussions with Oman on a temporary transit corridor in the vital waterway.
Washington had earlier announced fresh sanctions aimed at pressuring Iran to capitulate, with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent threatening the country with "economic asphyxiation".
