U.S. prosecutors are moving to drop charges against Indian billionaire Gautam Adani, one of the world's richest men.
The Justice Department said Monday it will no longer pursue charges alleging that he duped investors in a massive solar project in India.
A judge must still sign off on the request, which comes less than two years after they were brought in New York.
Adani Green Energy has long disputed the claims that its success could be traced in part to a quarter million dollars in bribes allegedly paid to Indian government officials.
The future of the prosecution has been in doubt after President Donald Trump last year suspended a federal law banning business bribes overseas.
