Seven women were injured and taken to hospital Friday when a vehicle crashed through a brick wall and into a fitness centre in London, Ont.
The incident occurred around 7:40 a.m. at Sherwood Forest Mall, near Wonderland and Gainsborough roads, London police said.
Investigators said a car crashed into the back of a GoodLife Fitness facility.
Seven people, including the driver of the vehicle – all of whom are women – were sent to hospital after life-saving measures were performed at the scene.
“At this time, two people remain in critical condition, including one person who was pinned beneath the vehicle and has since been extricated,” Chief Thai Truong told reporters Friday afternoon.
Truong later confirmed to Global News one of those two critical patients was deemed to be in serious condition.
