Peru election: Apathy and indecision deepen as country faces 9th leader in 10 years

Peru votes amid a crowded field of 35 presidential candidates and widespread apathy, as towns like El Carmen, the heart of the Afro-Peruvian community, say no one campaigned there.

Polls suggest at least 20% of voters—largely rural women—remain undecided, and some are confused by the ballot.
