Kemi Badenoch has called for Sir Keir Starmer to resign over the latest revelations about Lord Mandelson's appointment as the UK's ambassador to the US.
The Tory leader said: "Either the prime minister is lying or he is so incompetent that he is unfit to run the country.
Either way, his position is untenable."
Sir Keir has said he was not informed that Peter Mandelson was denied security clearance, or that decision was overturned by the Foreign Office.
