The Metropolitan Police has released footage of officers being subjected to abuse and racial slurs during two rival protests in London, on Saturday.
A video shared by the Met shows officers being yelled at and sworn at, with one black officer told to “go back to your homeland” before getting arrested.
About 60,000 people are estimated to have joined Tommy Robinson’s Unite the Kingdom march on Saturday, and between 15,000 and 20,000 attended the Nakba Day rally, the Met said.
A total of 43 arrests were made across both Unite the Kingdom march and a pro-Palestine Nakba Day demonstrations for a “variety of offences”, the force said, adding that while the number “may seem high, to this point both protests have proceeded largely without significant incident”.
Overall 20 were linked to the Unite the Kingdom protest, while 12 were affiliated with the Nakba protest, the force added.
The remaining 11 arrests were not linked to either group, or their affiliation has not been confirmed, the Met said.
