Oil surges above 100 dollars as US strikes on Iran continue

The US has launched strikes on Iran for a 13th consecutive night.

US Central Command said the attacks aim "to hold Iran accountable and diminish threats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to commercial shipping".

Oil has surged above $100 a barrel for the first time since May as tensions in the Middle East escalate.

The rise followed Houthi attacks on a Saudi tanker in the Red Sea, raising fears of further disruption to Gulf oil exports.
