Hegseth: Iran war has cost $37.8B so far

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Tuesday said the estimated cost of the Iran war had risen to $37.5 billion, up from about $29 billion in mid-May.

He disclosed the updated figure during a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on the Trump administration's $88 billion supplemental funding request, the bulk of which would go toward covering the cost of the war.

The conflict began in late February and has recently returned to the brink of all-out war following the collapse of the ceasefire.
