A newly built bridge in Lesotho is set to nearly double its water exports to South Africa.
The Senqu Bridge, launched this week, is part of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project.
This project will more than double water exports and aims to support South Africa's industrial hub and boost Lesotho's economy through water royalties.
The bridge spans 825 meters and is part of a larger infrastructure network.
The project, costing over $3.2 billion, also enhances Lesotho’s hydropower output, advancing energy security.
Construction created about 1,200 jobs, mostly for Lesotho residents.
