3,000-year-old burial site discovered in El Salvador; archaeologists uncover human skull, remains and ancient sea turtle-shaped vessel

Archaeologists in El Salvador are investigating a remarkable discovery that could date back nearly 3,000 years, after an ancient pre-Hispanic burial site was uncovered in Antiguo Cuscatlan, a suburb of San Salvador.

According to a news release from El Salvador’s Ministry of Culture, the burial site was discovered earlier this month, with excavation work beginning on July 21.
