President Trump said the U.S. will "take care of things" if the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen attempt to blockade Saudi oil shipments in the Red Sea.

"So far, it hasn't happened, might happen, but we take care of things," he told reporters in the Oval Office alongside Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

"If something like that happens, we take care of it.

You know, we've done that with the Houthis before, and we haven't heard from them in a while since we did what we did originally."

The militant group, which shares close ties with Iran, announced Monday that it would seek to block Saudi oil shipments transiting the Red Sea as Iran blockades the Strait of Hormuz.

Such a move would violate the Oman-brokered ceasefire between the U.S. and the Houthis reached in May 2025 and put additional pressure on already volatile global energy markets.
