Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday highlighted the "power of India’s youth" in a speech marking the 79th anniversary of the country gaining independence from British colonial rule in 1947.

Addressing the nation from New Delhi’s 17th century Mughal-era Red Fort, Modi said young people had an "immense role" in making India a developed nation, and that they would be the "greatest beneficiaries". (AP Video by Rishi Lekhi)
