Alliance Party politician, Nuala McAllister, says the news of the Belfast attack has "already been hijacked" and referenced a recent sentencing which did not lead to "a call for protest" - she believes many are using the attack to "further their own agenda".
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault involving a knife in the Kinnaird Avenue area of north Belfast.
