Sources have said the health secretary is going to mount a formal challenge for the leadership of the Labour Party, as first reported by The Times.
A spokesman for Streeting did not deny the claim in a statement to The Times, saying: "Wes is the health secretary, he is proud of his record of falling waiting lists and a recovering NHS.
