The 2026 US Open begins with players facing an unusual distraction: cannabis smoke drifting from nearby Corona Park.

Katie Boulter said the smell has affected her concentration, while Fran Jones and Harriet Dart have also noticed it.

The issue has surfaced repeatedly at Flushing Meadows, with the USTA acknowledging it cannot control activity beyond tournament grounds.
