Palestinian killed in West Bank as violence surges during Iran war

A Palestinian man was killed in the West Bank on Saturday, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, in the latest killing in a wave of violence in the West Bank that has claimed the lives of 22 people since the war with Iran began on Feb. 28.

Israel’s military said it responded to a violent riot on Saturday in the village of Deir Jarir, northeast of Ramallah.

A reservist soldier shot one of the Palestinians, who was evacuated for medical treatment and later died at the hospital.

The move comes as Israel approved 34 new settlements in the West Bank.
