Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the U.S. military is planning to bomb "key facilities" in Iran on Wednesday night, seeking to pressure the country into agreeing to a deal.
"Central Command will be busy tonight because President Trump said we will be hitting Iran hard, and we will be," he told reporters at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.
The secretary, echoing President Trump earlier in the day, accused Iranian negotiators of "tapping" the U.S. along in negotiations and said the goal of the bombing campaign was to get them to agree to a deal.
"If we need to negotiate with bombs, we'll negotiate with bombs," he said. "And we're very good at it.
