Floating igloo leaves France for polar exploration mission

The Tara Polar Station set out from France on Sunday to begin a long-term mission to study biodiversity in the Arctic.

The floating laboratory, shaped like an igloo, is designed to withstand sea-ice pressure and to endure temperatures as low as -52º.
