Weijia Jiang, the president of the White House Correspondents' Association, struck a defiant tone as she opened the association's rescheduled dinner Friday night.
"We are back.
We will not be intimidated," she declared. "We refuse to let an act of violence have the final word."
The original dinner in April was postponed after a gunman disrupted the event.
